Great authentic shanghai food! Get their regular soup dumplings, and pan fried beef soup dumplings. they have lots of variety in their menu, multiple trips recommended or just bring a large group.

Good food overall some dishes a lot stronger than others. A mix of Canadian Chinese and more traditional dishes. We went on a Thursday night - the food came quickly for a group of 10 people. They have a limited beer/alcohol selection. It's really unclear whether they accept Credit/Debit.

Christmas Eve dinner, tasty, fast, only 20 minutes from order to pick up. Good prices!

Only available Shanghai delicacy in town, no other choice. Believe me. All Shanghai dishes you want. Good cooking by real Shanghai chef from Macau.

Only place in Edmonton with Xiao Long Bao! Or at least the only place we found that has. Their serving portions are pretty large and best for large groups to share a variety.

Excellent local Chinese food with a kick

Has been a customer for years and years. Has been always loved the food. But just visit yesterday after a long time. I found this two dishes had changed a lot. Not in the good way. A big disappointed, cause those two happen to be my favorite. Other my order are still great. I am wondering why.

Decent food, the XLB are not too bad. Favourite dishes were probably the green beans and mapo tofu.

Incredible, you wouldn't think this place has much to offer from the look of it outside but believe me. Holy.. cow.. the food was.. I don't have words. How everything was so juicy yet crispy and smothered in rich and tasty sauce, I'll never know. Will be here again and I'm already looking forward to it.Can confirm, it is now two days later and I am back with more Friends and family.

The food here is consistently good. We always get loads of trays of the soup dumplings, very yummy. The fried golden bun is a good treat, and i love the shanghai noodles. The place itself is a bit dingy, and we had some dishes we didn't love. (The rice roll, hot and sour soup, black sesame mochis) but overall good.

Very authentic Shanghai food. Lunch special with great value. And the owner always provide commentary desert after the meal.

One of only a couple soup dumpling places.. The staff is so friendly. The soup dumplings are just awesome.If it weren't so far away from me I'd go multiple times a week.

So many delicious dishes to choose from. I definitely recommend the Xiao Long Bao and Braised Pork Belly with Pea Tips.

The administration was awesome, the vibe was incredible, the nourishment was heavenly. Couldn't have requested a superior dinner today around evening time. I Love Shanghai 456.

I was introduced to this place by a friend a few years back and I was amazed. Their soup dumpling is a must get (though expensive). Other than that, their sour and spicy noodle, beef bun, and the "pot with everything" are all worth a try. Overall, it's probably one of the best Chinese places in Edmonton with a bit of its own style of cuisine.

Price is good. Their xialongbao is good but not the best.

I come here only for Salt and Pepper fried squid (Calamari). One of the best by far of all the places I've been to in Edmonton.

the restaurant was pretty much empty when we got there (2 other tables of 3). Food is reasonably priced, and the service was friendly. The hot and sour soup was great, not too spicy where you couldn't have it, but it was full of flavor.The special fried rice was great too. And the boneless pork ribs with peach sauce was EXCELLENT. Haven't had it in 7 years as I couldn't find it anywhere, but they had it here!In total after tip our dinner (2 people) came to $40 and we have leftovers for lunch.Would definitely come back :)

Service is slow and bad. Don’t understand what I am asking and come back 3 times to ask me if I am sure. Yes, I am sure. I want another dish of spect sauce. What’s wrong with that?Food quality today is not as good as before. The soup in the hot pot was one of the signature dish for Shanghai and it used to be simply but tasty. Today, this soup was so salty with no other taste. Everything in the pot is over cooked and very disappointed.

Gotta try the pork soup dumplings! Everything we had was delicious.

This place is a Shanghai restaurant, I am quite surprised they don’t have one of the Shanghai dish which is very popular in Shanghai, I only gave a three stars because of this. Their Xiaolongbao was very good! We had six dishes on that day, it’s pretty good overall. The soup with rice cake is a must try!

Food has always been good... but when I ordered take out this time ... they shorted on my dumplings...when I called the girl called me a liar.. they only gave me 12 instead of 16Check your food before you leave... or eat in...so u can just let them rectify...like on my first time when I ordered meat with noodle soup...they forgot to put meat... later on they added it in after me telling them...

Always good service to us. As a regular customer my family and I felt their appreciation each time we give them business. The food are not always perfect but they are kind enough to replace it for us at no cost. Great people skills!

Pretty much the only place I'll go to for Chinese food now. Excellent siao long bao and wo tiep. The noodles in soup are always good. Desserts are done extremely well too. Green beans in XO sauce, delish. You really can't go wrong with the food. The service is a little slow, but if you're expecting a different experience, don't go for Chinese food.

Unpretentious Chinese diner with reasonably authentic northern Chinese fare. Food is quite good, reasonably priced and good portion size.

Edit: I had to take off one star from my original review. I went back the second time and the server was different from the first time I went there. The first time I came here the server was a younger lady that had a great happy attitude and was so welcoming. The second time I came back it was an older lady. This older lady kept rushing us to order and seemed annoyed with everyone that came inside. First review: Delicious food and great service. Our server was very welcoming and made the whole dining experience worth 5 stars.
